In addition to writing and performing her own music, Bird is an active arts advocate. In July 2010, Bird and friends successfully built the largest independent eclectic music festival her hometown had ever seen. With over 140 artists including Shout Out Out Out Out, Dustin Bentall, Wood Pigeon and Cadence Weapon, 23 venues and two massive street stages, SOS Fest was born.  As SOS Fest’s founding Producer and Director, Bird was honored to be part of the inaugural year.

Bird has since worked in marketing for the Art Gallery of Alberta and continually works with March Music and the School of Song, Alberta Culture Days and the Edmonton Chamber Music Society. She helps organize hundreds of performance opportunities for artists every year.
